depressing news

so, i'm going to get the buttons for the baby sweater this weekend. nothing depressing there.

BUT, because i felt i was on a roll, i went back to the pink and brown sweater i started about a year and half ago (pics on here somewhere) and began to piece it together. well, the seams were looking GREAT. everything was working nicely...

then i tried it on. it's too small. i'm not a big gal! i should be a small! i have shoulders that fit a medium better, however. i'm crying.

i will weave the ends in tomorrow night and take a pic...then give it to my mom so she can enjoy the soft, soft blue sky alpacas sweater. 100% baby alpaca!

99% done!

sort of looks creepy with a pillow inside and it doesn't hit the shoulders correctly, but it's done! just need two buttons now. i'll get them tomorrow.
99% finished!

almost finished!

ok so the sleeves are done, the hood is done. all that's left are the side seams, adding the buttons and weaving in the ends (my least favorite part of the whole thing.)

will tomorrow be it? tune in to find out...

sweater hood is close to completion

see! progress!

sweater with hood

i know it was a beautiful day outside...i had my windows open as i sat on the couch and worked on the hood...for about 6 hours of my day.

it looks mutant-like and unibomber-esque right now, but that's because i still have three rows to go, including the button hole row. but, after that i just have to assemble! lucas will be able to wear this sweater before he gets his driver's license, after all.

sweater update and croissants!

so i took two days off of work this week, and i've officially gone insane. after the first day i decided that i had taken enough time off and that i wanted to go back on friday, but i enjoyed the late wake up, so i stayed in again after all. i started working on the baby sweater again (finally) earlier this week, and i have made significant progress to this point saturday night:

*front is done
*back is done
*both sleeves are finished
*shoulders are seamed together
*hood is 5" completed (it will eventually be 9 1/2" plus a border)

here is proof that i was working on it at katie's place yesterday
knitting
here is the sweater before i started on the hood, after blocking. aw.

katie was also working hard on her pastry homework. this is one of the dozen or so croissants she shoved into me yesterday. i also had part of a pain au chocolat and a scone. a bit of brioche today. now, i am not complaining at all. i am very happy to have a friend in pastry school now and be a "homework reviewer." even better that she lives about a 10 mintue walk from me.

not really craft related but cool

actually, in my former life i may have created something like this, back in the EHL Creations bath days.

from HungryGirl.com thanks to amy

Melted Chocolate Malt Bubble Bath

Ingredients:

-1 cup powdered milk

-2 tbsp. cocoa powder

-2 capfuls unscented bubble bath

Directions:

Mix milk and cocoa together. Pour half of mixture under running bathwater. Follow with one capful of bubble bath. Repeat, and get ready to relax in chocolate heaven!

Benefits: Milk hydrates the skin, while cocoa tones and oxygenates, leaving skin glowing. You'll smell great, too!

HG Fun Fact! Research says the smell of chocolate may fool the brain and eliminate cravings. So next time you are jonesin’ for a choco-fix, dive into this sea of chocolate instead!
