coasters

i went to ikea last weekend and found these 1/4" cork coasters...just what i had been looking for to complete my coaster project!

it started about a year and a half ago (actually, the home depot receipt says 1/2/05) when i picked up some tiles to make coasters. i got 1" round felt sticky things for feet. i had been looking for something to put on top for a while, and these fit the bill perfectly. as you can see, they have about 1/4" border so you can see a bit of color on each one! the flipped tile is a nive navy blue. i will pick up some more soon so i can have a whole set.

lots of socks and sweater

here are some baby socks i've been working on. the blue ones are tiny tiny and the tan ones are a little bigger. they are blue sky alpaca organic cotton. um...baby bobbi bear has been reborn as a sock.

i also started a sweater of most delish debbie bliss cashmerino baby. SO soft. i will update its progress. as of now i have finished the back. here is a pic from sunday night. i am about to start the front. eventually, it will go to luke, who is now three months old. i promised his dad, my coworker, that he will have it before high school, but everyone is betting against it right now.

new things

so here is a wristlet i crocheted last thursday in about 20 mintues. i made it out of left over thick cotton that i used back in the day to make my favorite summer bag. the pin was just to make it pretty. i'm also going to line it this weekend and add a magnetic snap thingy.

also, i went to the sheep and wool festival this past weekend, and though i didn't take any pics there, i did learn to spin my own yarn! i'd really like to take a class to learn how to spin on a wheel, but that will be when i have time. here is my first attempt. (i will take pics once i ply it.)
