bunny quilt day #2

andrea just left my place with her sewing machine in hand. though we wound up not using it and working with mine instead, much was accomplished tonight. we've been working on the center portion of the quilted wall hanging for the friends of rabbits auction in april. next tuesday we expect to finish the center and start on the border pieces. here's what we have so far...

andrea did most of the sewing and i ironed the pieces and helped trim. (i'm rusty at the machine...she's much better!) we had another assistant for much of the evening, but she kept getting tied up in our scraps!

i'm going to start some draft dodgers this week also. gotta practice using the machine.

japanese craft store

here are pics of the craft store in japan. my angelic friend steve let me drag him around...i think he may have enjoyed about 6% of it!
here's steve looking confused...

here i am, content at the yarn section of the store...

andrea and i are going to get fabric tonight for the bunny quilt. we have a ton of ideas that we will discuss. i'm assuming the actual production will begin in the next week or so. more on that this weekend, also some pics of the prints we collect.

the friend i mentioned earlier? forget it, not worth discussing. gee, that was quick!

still knittin'

all hats and scarves from the NACo charity auction are finished. three lucky coworkers bid on two hat/scarf sets and one fuzzy scarf...sure, it was back in the middle of december and it's now the middle of february, but you can't rush perfection, right?

andrea and i will be starting some new quilts next week. we'll be making a wall hanging for the friends of rabbits charity auction in a few weeks. she is very excited. finally! someone who enjoyes looking through bolts and bolts of fabric as much as i do!

anyway, i'm moving on to my next knit project...a sweater jacket for me! here's the first few hours of work. it's made from blue sky alpaca. maybe i'll be able to live in the andes or start spitting randomly after finishing this jacket...
